The Brown County Beekeeping Association is happy to present INTRODUCTION TO BEEKEEPING. Learn the essentials of beginning beekeeping !!
When: February 23th, 2018 — 8:00am to 4:00pm

How Much: $55 for an individual, $45 for additional family members
Includes: Light snacks, refreshments and lunch
What: An understanding of:
- Bee breeds and basic physiology
- Bee development timeline and colony cycles
- Hive types and basic beekeeping equipment
- Hive location, purchasing bees and their installation
- Bee diseases, parasites and how to treat them
- Personal protection and annual hive maintenance
And hands-on experience with (not with live bees!):
- Hive assembly
- Mite check
- Package and nuc installation

Directions: Take Country Club Road off of West Mason (heading north). Turn right onto Larsen and then take a left before getting to the main entrance. The Great Lakes Energy Education Center and parking lot G will be on your left. Come through side doors and the meeting will be upstairs.
